Chief Justice O’Donnell Chairs Board Meeting of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union

Chief Justice Donal O’Donnell, in his capacity as President of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union, chaired a meeting of the Board of the Network, which took place from 18-20 March 2026 in Brno, Czech Republic.

The Board convened to review the ongoing work and strategic direction of the Network, with discussions focusing on its priorities for the coming year, including preparations for the Network’s forthcoming annual conference, which will take place in Limassol, Cyprus. The conference will focus on the topics of the Rule of Law and the Digital Services Act, two topics of contemporary importance for the judiciary across Europe:

In addition to its meeting, the Board members of the Network participated in ‘A Night of Law’, an initiative under which the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic invites the public into its court building to discuss issues of interest to the public.  At the event, the Board members of the Network and attendees discussed the efficiency of court proceedings and judicial communication and public trust in the Judiciary.
