On Friday 23 October, Ms Justice Niamh Hyland delivered the keynote address at the event marking the launch of the Trinity Women in Law mentorship programme 2026/27.   

Trinity Women in Law (TWIL) is a subcommittee of the Law Society of Trinity College Dublin, both of which are entirely student-led.  The TWIL mentorship programme is designed to pair female and minority gender students with alumni of the School of Law at Trinity working in the legal field with the aim of providing opportunities for networking, career advice, and professional guidance.   

Speaking in the Graduates Memorial Building, Ms Justice Hyland offered advice to mentors as well as to mentees, spoke about the role models and mentors she looked up to in her own career, and provided insights into her own path from law student to lecturer at Trinity to référendaire to barrister to Judge.
