Mr Justice Murray delivers 2026 Kader Asmal Lecture in South Africa
On the 16 September, 2026, Mr Justice Murray delivered the 13th Kader Asmal Lecture in Johannesburg. The lecture was given under the auspices of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution and the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa. He delivered a lecture entitled: ‘Judge under Fire: The Rule of Law in a Perfect Storm’.
During his visit to Johannesburg, Judge Murray was also hosted by Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, Chief Justice of South Africa, for a bilateral meeting at the Constitutional Court. He attended a tour of the Constitutional Hill precinct, the seat of the Constitutional Court in South Africa.
