Prof Aileen Kavanagh, TCD, and Mr Justice Hogan  

On 11 November, Mr Justice Gerard Hogan was invited by Professor Aileen Kavanagh at Trinity College Dublin to deliver a lecture to students taking the jurisprudence module which she teaches.  Mr Justice Hogan’s lecture was titled “The Role of Judges in a Democracy” and offered an insightful view into the work done and challenges faced by the judiciary in a democratic society.      

The lecture took place in the former Dublin Gas Works Building on D’Olier St, an art deco building from the interwar period which formerly housed a cinema and is now occupied by Trinity College Dublin.
