You can apply to the District Court if noise is seriously affecting your ability to enjoy your daily life.
An example of this type of noise would be excessive dog barking. Excessive noise may come from the environment such as harmful outdoor sound created by human activities. This can include noise from transport, traffic or construction at industrial sites or neighbouring properties.
The following legislation covers these situations:
- Section 25 of the Control of Dogs Act 1986
- Section 108 of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992
- The Environmental Protection Agency Act (Noise) Regulations 1994
